Can you believe it!? We’ve made it to the last day. 31+ days went by quickly and I loved writing more personal posts. It was fun for me to get back to my roots and I plan on sticking with it. I’m thinking of doing a photo & prompt challenge every three months or so. I hope y’all have enjoyed the challenge. We started out with 30 participants and ended up with about 5! Crazy, huh? I had no expectations going into this, so I’ll take it!
Today is a free day to write about whatever you like. I stumped and have no clue what to blog about. We lost power for a couple hours tonight, so everyone went to bed early. Hubby and both of the kids are snuggled up and sleeping well. I stayed up to finish reading “The Help” and now that the power is back on, I’m catching up on e-mails, Facebook, etc. Bella should be waking up any minute to nurse and then I’ll head to bed with her. Yes, we co-sleep.
(I do dress my kids.. sometimes.) It’s funny because we didn’t co-sleep with Bryson in the beginning. For this first three months, he slept in a bassinet beside our bed. Then he moved to his crib where he stayed until his was around 15 or 16 months. We moved into our new home and said “goodbye!” to the bottle which was too many transitions at once for little man. He ended up in bed with us for a few months and we didn’t mind. I loved laughing with him right before drifting off to sleep and snuggling with it. Eventually we did get him back to his bed without many problems.
Bella and I co-sleep on the couch right now. I’ve just found it much easier to nurse lying down on the couch than in the bed. So, Bryson has moved back into the bed with his daddy. I actually think it’s kind of cute. Bella and I co-sleeping on the couch and Bryson and Justin co-sleeping in the bed. When she starts sleeping through the night or at least for longer stretches, I’ll probably head back to bed. For now, this is what works for us though. It is so convenient to just give her the boob and go back to sleep, haha. Another perk to breastfeeding!
Okay, so my free day ended up being about co-sleeping and breastfeeding. I guess that comes as no surprise since that is my life right now.
